Documents Needed Prior to Taking the Training Modules

To support the Web based training module, the following documents are needed:

Current CARE Manual
Blank copy of the Level I CARE Assessment form

Modules Available

CARE Level I - PASRR Training:

The objectives of this course are:

CARE goals and objectives.
Federal and State PASRR laws.
How to complete the PASRR assessment:
How to make Level II referrals when appropriate.
Define the relationship between PASRR regulations and the CARE assessment process.
Define serious persistent mental illness (SPMI), intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD), and related conditions in relation to the federal PASRR requirements.

This course will take approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete. There is a post-assessment exam of 20 questions.

CARE Level I Assessor Training:

The objectives of this course are:

Understand the policies and procedures of the CARE Program.
Understand the purpose of PASRR and how to complete PASRR questions.
Gain knowledge of assessment practices.
Identify information that allows individuals and their caregivers to make informed choices regarding community-based services and long-term care placement; and
Learn the definitions of serious persistent mental illness (SPMI), intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD), and related condition in relation to the federal PASRR screening requirements.

This course will take approximately 2-1/2 hours to complete. There is a post-assessment exam of 20 questions.
