Documents Needed Prior to Taking the Training Modules
To support the Web based training module, the following documents are needed:
- Current CARE Manual
- Blank copy of the Level I CARE Assessment form
Modules Available
- CARE Level I - PASRR Training:
The objectives of this course are:
- CARE goals and objectives.
- Federal and State PASRR laws.
- How to complete the PASRR assessment:
- How to make Level II referrals when appropriate.
- Define the relationship between PASRR regulations and the CARE assessment process.
- Define serious persistent mental illness (SPMI), intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD), and related conditions in relation to the federal PASRR requirements.
This course will take approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete. There is a post-assessment exam of 20 questions.
- CARE Level I Assessor Training:
The objectives of this course are:
- Understand the policies and procedures of the CARE Program.
- Understand the purpose of PASRR and how to complete PASRR questions.
- Gain knowledge of assessment practices.
- Identify information that allows individuals and their caregivers to make informed choices regarding community-based services and long-term care placement; and
- Learn the definitions of serious persistent mental illness (SPMI), intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD), and related condition in relation to the federal PASRR screening requirements.
This course will take approximately 2-1/2 hours to complete. There is a post-assessment exam of 20 questions.
