The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) has scheduled a series of public forums to discuss integration of the state’s home- and community-based Medicaid waiver programs.
The purpose of these meetings is to talk to Kansans who receive these services in an effort to understand and address their frustrations with the current individual waivers. This will be an opportunity for HCBS waiver consumers to let the agencies know how the waivers are working for them. The agencies are working on creating a new 1115 waiver that would integrate current waiver services, so that all services would be available to waiver participants regardless of the waiver for which they are eligible if they are determined to need these services to continue to live in their communities.
